Time tracking for solo freelancers

Every hour,
accounted for.

CronLoom is a fast, honest time tracker — with the numbers a one-person business actually runs on. What each client really pays per hour. How that fixed bid is tracking against the quote. Where the month lands. No dashboards to build, no team tier to unlock.

Free during early access. No credit card, no contracts. Then €/$9 flat.

$5,000 /month

Most freelancers bill about 60% of the week. The rest is admin, pitches and gaps nobody pays for.

Your floor rate

Charge below this and the month doesn't work.

That's your floor. CronLoom checks every client and fixed bid against it.

Set it once. CronLoom keeps score from then on, no spreadsheet.

Hosted In the EU on EU infrastructure
Price €/$9 flat the price you sign up at is the price you keep
Ad-tech Zero no ad trackers, no Google Fonts
Owner One person independent, built in Germany

Built for one. developers, designers, consultants, writers, anyone billing for their own time. Not for agencies or teams managing seats.

Not just hours. Numbers.

A timesheet counts your hours. CronLoom shows what they're worth.

Hours are only the input. CronLoom keeps three numbers current while you track: your rate against your floor, who actually pays it, and where the month lands.

01 · Rate vs. your floor

▼ below floor

$57.38

/hr, against the $85 floor you set

Where you slipped below your line. Your effective rate is what you actually keep per worked hour. You set $85 as your floor; a fixed bid that ran long is paying you $57. CronLoom shows you the gap early — while there's still room to act.

02 · Who actually pays your rate

$/hr, this quarter

Northwind Studio

project

$92 /h

Acme Corp

hourly

$78 /h

Bright Studio

hourly

$61 /h

Delta Agency

retainer

$38 /h

The vertical line is your effective rate ($57/h). Anything short of it pays you less than you actually keep.

Who actually pays your rate. Every client ranked by what they truly earn you per hour. That comfortable retainer at the bottom is quietly your worst-paid work — and it's the first conversation to have.

03 · Where the month lands

$8,420 / $11,000

June, projected vs goal

Where the month lands. It updates as you track, so a thin month shows up long before the invoices do — with time left to do something about it. Income that won't sit still is the freelancer's worst month-end surprise.

Jun 1 today Jun 30
goal $11k
$8,420

This is the whole dashboard. Not a “reports” add-on you pay extra for later.

Toggl and Harvest hide profitability behind a pricier tier. Here it's the home screen, in the one €/$9 plan. The calculator above sets your floor. CronLoom keeps score from then on.

Same numbers, every device

Your real numbers, wherever the work happens.

The same numbers on the web and in your pocket. Rate vs. your floor, projected income, client profitability: they stay in sync everywhere. Start a timer offline on the train and watch it land on your desktop later.

From first timer to your first real number

Useful on day one. Sharper every week.

No setup project, no onboarding call. Already tracking somewhere else? Bring your history across in a CSV from Toggl, Harvest or Clockify.

  1. Start the timer

One click to start, or import your past entries from another tracker. Set your rate per client once and forget it.

  2. Tag the work

Pick the client and project as you go, and mark what's billable. That's the entire habit. The mobile app keeps it going offline.

  3. Watch the numbers

Effective rate against your floor, who actually pays it, and projected income fill in as the entries land. CronLoom flags anything that slips under. There's nothing to configure.

One-click timer

Start tracking with a single click. Smart suggestions, idle detection, pause and resume. Keeps running offline on mobile and syncs clean when you're back.

Budgets & goals

Hour or money budgets per project, with visual progress and alerts before you run over. A weekly goal that tells you if you're on pace.

Multi-currency

Bill each client in their currency and see every figure consolidated into yours. Built for freelancers who work across borders.

Billing-ready export

Clean CSV and reports your clients trust. ISO dates, per-row currency, billable flags. Drops straight into Lexware, sevDesk or an invoice.

Offline mobile apps

Native iOS and Android with real offline support. Track on a train or on-site; nothing is lost to a sync bug.

Owned by the person who builds it

The price you sign up for is the price you keep.

When private equity buys a tool you depend on, you can set your watch by what happens next. Layoffs, then a renewal you never agreed to. CronLoom can't run that play. There's no PE firm here to run it.

Acquired & repriced

A real, reported renewal:

$12 $120+ /mo

After Harvest's 2025 acquisition, paying freelancers reported renewals jumping past 10×. This isn't a one-off. The same acquirer has done it across the products it bought.

The honest Harvest alternative →

Independent & flat

The CronLoom promise:

€/$9 /mo · flat · forever honest
  • No per-seat tax, you're one person
  • No surprise 10× renewal, no PE owner
  • Hosted in the EU, GDPR-clean, no ad trackers
  • No contracts, no lock-in, export your data anytime

A note from the founder

Thomas, building CronLoom solo in Germany

I freelanced for years with a timer that told me how many hours I worked and almost nothing about whether the work paid. The month I added up my real rate by hand was the month I started turning down my most “comfortable” client.

CronLoom is the tool I wanted then. One person builds it, one person answers your email, and the price is the price. I can't 10× your plan next year, because there's nobody here who could make me.

Why no free plan?

A free tier forces one of two ugly choices. Either you cripple the product behind feature gates, or you pay for the free users by selling their data. CronLoom does neither.

Instead you get one honest plan with every feature, free while it's in early access. A flat €/$9 once billing launches is what keeps an independent, privacy-first tool sustainable and free of ad-tech.

Questions, answered straight

Frequently asked

Is there a free plan?
No permanent free tier is planned. CronLoom is free during early access, then one flat plan at $9/month with every feature included. No tiers, no add-ons, nothing held back.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. CronLoom is free during early access, so there's no card and no payment details to enter. Billing starts only when early access ends, at a flat $9/month.
What happens to my data?
Nothing gets deleted out from under you. Your data is yours to take whenever you want, and you can export everything to CSV at any time.
What will it cost when billing launches?
A flat €/$9 a month. There's no investor or acquirer pushing for a bigger number, so the price we announce is the price you keep.
Where is my data hosted?
All data is hosted in the EU and CronLoom is GDPR-compliant. The marketing site ships almost no JavaScript and loads no third-party trackers or Google Fonts. The app itself runs privacy-friendly analytics on EU servers, with no ad-tech and no cross-site tracking.
Am I locked in?
No. There are no contracts and no lock-in. Your data is yours to export in full at any time, so you're never stuck.
Who is CronLoom for?
Solo freelancers and independent professionals: developers, designers, consultants, writers, anyone billing for their own time. It's built for one person who wants to know their real profitability, not for agencies or teams managing seats.
Can I import my data from Toggl, Harvest or Clockify?
Yes. CronLoom supports CSV import, so you can bring time entries across from Toggl, Harvest, Clockify and similar tools. See our comparison pages for migration notes per tool.
What makes CronLoom different from other time trackers?
Most trackers stop at "you worked 32 hours." CronLoom starts there. You set a floor rate — the line you decided is worth your time — and CronLoom keeps score against it: it flags the clients and fixed bids whose real rate has slipped below it, ranks who actually pays you, and projects where the month lands. It's the difference between recording your time and knowing what it's worth.
